Meat Balloons Are Now a Thing

Today, we’re talking about meat balloons. Before you let your stomach turn inside out and then deflate (balloon talk), these aren’t made from finely stretched and delicately pressed meat skin…they are balloons, that look dangerously like the real thing.

The balloons were developed for a New York-based butcher shop that operates under the name Japan Premium Beef.
Designed as part of the NoHo Design District 2012, the butcher-themed balloons feature a selection of fine cut fleshy latex meats — porterhouse, flank, filet mignon, and t-bone, alongside different size sausages. The detail on the balloons is what makes them eery, as the designers utilized balloon formers dripped with red, piunk, or brown to imitate the marbling on the steaks.
Doesn’t look like these balloons are for sale, nor are there any immediate plans to sell them.
So sad, I wanted to fill them with red-colored water and get into worst PETA-themed water balloon fight you could imagine.
