McDonald’s Australia Is Letting You Snapchat Them Your Job Application

It seems the days of walking into a place of business and asking the manager for a job application are almost gone. While most people just go online and look for applications, McDonald’s Australia (or Macca’s, as the Aussies call it)  will be taking that process to the next level by letting you Snap and inform them if you’re interested in working with them, starting today.

They’re calling them “Snaplications,” and they’re providing a Snapchat filter that makes it look like you’re in uniform as you make your case for a job in 10 seconds or less.

As soon as McDonald’s reviews your Snaplication and thinks you have potential, they’ll redirect you to their careers site where you can download an actual application form.

It sounds like a lot of work when you can just go straight to their site for the application, but at least this way, there’s someone at McDonald’s seeing your exuberant, smiling face.

It’s kind of a fun idea, especially since 65 percent of McDonald’s Australia employees are under the age of 18, so this can be a tool to lure in the youth with technology they can relate to.

While McDonald’s won’t look at the Snaps and hire people on the spot, it’s an interesting first step that’s sure to get a lot of applicants vying for a job with the Golden Arches.
