This Chef Dips His Bare Hands In BOILING HOT OIL, Hand-Fries Your Fish [WATCH]

When I was a young lad, I was astonished by the way my mom would flip tortillas on the stovetop burner without so much of a wince. Then I’d try it myself and burn the hell out of my fingers.

Looking at this video, I am just as astonished by the way this chef sticks his hand in boiling hot oil, but I will definitely not be trying it for myself.

Prem Kumar,65, is a chef in New Delhi who boils seafood right in front customers, and upon request, he’ll sometimes use his magical chef powers to stick his hand in the oil without harm, according to Gulf News.

While it looks like it would be an illusion, Kumar has built a high tolerance for heat, something that apparently runs in his family. It was a skill his father had, and he mimicked what his dad did. While feeling a little heat at first, he eventually got used to it.

Kumar said customers who come in to the Ganesh street restaurant freak out, and continually ask him to dip his hand, but the dude’s got a business to run and can’t just be a side show.

Kumar said he hopes his son can carry on the tradition, but his son probably hopes to start a tradition that won’t risk him looking like Captain Hook.

If you don’t believe in the power of the heat-resistant hand, watch him go at it below:
