These Candles Smell Like Fried Chicken, Because this is America

The smell of sizzling, hot fried chicken is one that overtakes the body in one, effortless swoop. Our noses twitch and our heads rubberneck in an attempt to find the source of the distinct aroma. Hoping to capture this fleeting, nostalgic smell, Kathy Werking created a unique line of candles emanating the “sweetest sides of Kentucky,” including, yes, fried chicken-scented candles.

Commissioned by Kentucky for Kentucky, only 25 candles will be available for purchase online starting Friday, November 22 at 10:30 am. The waxy beauts feature the “savory golden goodness” of extra crispy fried chicken and are made by cooking chicken in soy wax infused with a unique blend of spices.

Ale 8, ginger and citrus scents, and Kentucky Derby,  vanilla-bourbon and mint aromas, will also run on this curious, limited-time line.
