Deep-Fried Mac & Cheese Burger Bun: Because Those Are Literally the Best Words Food Has to Offer

walking-ched (1)

Before we start, let’s review: I think we can all agree that in most, if not all aspects of life, there are things that are just better than others. Green is better than red. Hot is better than cold. Puppies are better than kittens. These, folks, are the facts of life. Similarly, in the food world, there are some things that make food — any food — better. Bacon, Sriracha, booze, peanut butter. The list goes on and on. And all of the things on Zombie Burger‘s Walking Ched burger are on that list. Iowa is doing everything right.

Think about it: It’s already a burger, so win. A double burger, wherein two patties equals a double win. It’s also a burger with bacon and cheese (with pasta, the best kind of cheese), so that’s another point in the right direction. If that weren’t enough for you, there’s probably something wrong with you. I’ll bet you eat salads on the reg. For everyone else, the best part: Instead of the traditional sesame seed bun, this burger is topped off by two ‘buns’ of deep-fried mac and cheese. Yes, that’s right. More mac and cheese for your burger, this time deep-fried.

What else is there in life? Really, I don’t want to miss out.

NOTE: The burger also has onions and mayo and whatever, but I was sold at ‘deep-fried mac and cheese.’ So, maybe I missed that other stuff. Sincerest apologies.

H/T + PicThx that’s nerdalicious

Aziza Sullivan has always enjoyed three things in excess: food, writing, and sleeping. While the first two are happily combined, the third tends to get in the way, since it turns out the average reader is uninterested in sleep blogs. She also enjoys coffee, probably too much, if there is such a thing.

I live down the street from Zombie and the Ched is one of the worst items on the menu. It’s just not an easy burger to eat. Deep fried mac as a side would be great, but not if you pick it up and cut into it with your fingers and have hot mac running down your hands. The best burgers on their menu are: flamethrower, undead guy, plan 12 from outer space. You missed out.

Put one on ice and mail me one. Seriously. I’ll pay for shipping and everything. One of each of what you’ve mentioned.

Two of my YP sons swear this is their favorite burger. They were raised eating excellent food, so I will trust their opinions on this. My personal preference is the 28 Days at ZombieBurger….blue cheese/grilled onions.

It seems that restaurants are not promoting eating healthy but to see who can compete with the biggest, highest calorie meal they can dream up. There are plenty of burgers, fries and hot dog joints all over this country and I’d rather enjoy a Mom and Pop place with regular food. Hot Shots dog’s are not new, there is an old hot dog place in Chicago that does the same things or similar.
