Wienerschnitzel Finally Has Schnitzel… Kind Of

Wienerschnitzel has made its name in the fast food world by selling a wide variety of hot dogs.

However, the full name of the company is actually the name of a Viennese cuisine classic. In Austria, the wienerschnitzel is actually a deep-fried cutlet of veal that would never fly here in the United States, as there’s something about veal that turns us off.

Now, Wienerschnitzel will finally be selling “Schnitzels,” but instead of veal, their version is made out of chicken and encrusted in a potato chip breading before being deep-fried. The hot dog chain will offer three different varieties of Chicken Schnitzel sandwiches starting May 1st.

Classic Ranch, BBQ Bacon, and Blazin’ Bacon Guacamole Chicken Schnitzel sandwiches will all be available for a limited time nationwide starting May 1st at prices of $3.49, $3.99, and $4.49 respectively.

While it’s not an exact copy of the schnitzel, it’s cool to see Wienerschnitzel finally attempting to live up to its name.
