Visiting The Lime Truck

We've reported on The Lime Truck before, particularly last week's news of their plans to open a brick & mortar location under similar management. When we saw that they were going to be in the area, we hopped in our car to the SoCoFM shopping center to get a taste of their goodies.

The first thing we noticed about the truck was the fun lime-green wrap, designed by our friends over at IM King clothing. If you're familiar with their clothing and aesthetics, you'll definitely make the connection with some of the truck's design choices. We hopped on the chance to try several of their menu options, including the Yum Yum Lamb Sandwich ($7), a veggie, tzatziki and Sriracha wrap -- turning the traditional gyro wrap on its side, for the better (bottom, right):

Pictured above, on the left, is the truck's Spicy Hanger Taco ($4), a menu item that brings together tocino marinaded steak with seranno-mint carrot slaw and Cotija. Here's a lofty accolade for you Yelp-heads...who need reassurance from places that aren't Yelp:

Pictured directly above is the Ultimate Taco ($3), a pork-based taco with meat that's been marinated for 10 hours. To make things even more juicy, it's topped with a light guacamole hit, a chipotle-honey slaw and Cotija cheese. I'm not a Yelper, so I won't be reviewing this place, but my experience with that Ultimate Taco was borderline dream-within-a-dream like. Inception reference? You know I'm happy!
