Tropicana’s Ad Fixture Powered By 2,500 Oranges

In an effort to showcase the power of citrus, Tropicana, along with Unit9 and DDB created an electric billboard that completely powered by oranges. 2,500 oranges are attached to two big slabs of wood fitted with spikes of zinc and copper. The electrical current powering the lit font that reads “Energie Naturelle” is powered by the acidic juice of the oranges dissolved the metals, causing their electrons to react with each other and create an electrical current.
