This New Bose Bluetooth Speaker Looks Like A Stick of Butter

Bose, maker of pristine-quality audio equipment, has teamed up with CNC Merch, a company that specializes in unique branded merch and promotional products, to launch a new butter block-inspired bluetooth speaker.

The new Soundlink Plus colorway is presented in packaging resembling a stick of butter. The box, which is butter-colored, is wrapped in, what appears like, parchment paper, with measuring lines and the Bose logo on it. Inside, a paper ruler sits atop the speaker that reads:

“Introducing the speaker of the summer, the Bose Soundlink Plus Bluetooth Speaker. Smooth sound in our new citrus yellow color, but we can’t believe it’s not butter. This waterproof and dustproof speaker will be the perfect accessory to serve up sunshine all summer long.”

Why Bose decided to call the color “Citrus Yellow,” while marketing it as a stick of butter, is beyond me. Nevertheless, this CNC Merch collab is definitely one of the most interesting and fun releases from the company in a while.

The butter-inspired box isn’t available to regular consumers just yet, though. Only the citrus yellow speaker is available online, but just by itself for $399. Basically, it looks as if Bose did the butter thing for fun and doesn’t intend on selling the complete package—which is a missed opportunity, to be honest. That said, the speaker’s product page says that there are only a few remaining, so despite my disappointment, the new colorway is clearly popular.

Here’s to hoping Bose decides to release the buttery version.
