Roy Choi & Jon Favreau Roll Out ‘The Chef Truck’ For A Flavorful Vegas Debut

Roy Choi and Jon Favreau are making waves in Las Vegas with their latest culinary venture: The Chef Truck at Park MGM. This dynamic duo, whose friendship sparked on the set of the hit 2014 movie”Chef” and continued to crack off in the Netflix series “The Chef Show,” has finally decided to bring their on-screen magic to the real world.

For a decade, Choi resisted opening a restaurant with Favreau, raising concerns about straining their friendship due to the difficulty of running a spot. But with Park MGM as their partner, they’ve crafted The Chef Truck, an embodiment of their flavorful journey together. “It all feels right,” Choi revealed. “We started with the Chef movie, then the Chef Show, and now, The Chef Truck.”

Favreau shares Choi’s excitement: “Opening a restaurant with Chef Roy Choi is something I’ve been hoping to do since we first worked together. Now, people can finally taste the food we’ve been cooking together.”

Josef Wagner, Park MGM’s Vice President of Food & Beverage, recognizes the duo’s prowess. “Roy and Jon are powerhouses in their respective fields,” he says. “When you have them unite to execute a concept, they go all in, from research and development to design and execution.”

Situated near the resort’s buzzing casino floor, The Chef Truck fires up iconic items from the big screen, including the irresistible Cubano, Grilled Cheese Sandwich, and the famed Chocolate Lava Cake. Beyond these favorites, the menu boasts new collaborative creations from Choi and Favreau for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, catering even to vegetarian preferences.

This isn’t Choi’s first rodeo in Vegas; The Chef Truck joins Best Friend, which has been wowing patrons with a unique taste of Los Angeles since its 2018 debut at Park MGM.

Thanks to Choi’s creative flips on the food he knows and loves, Vegas has been treated to a taste of the real deal, with the latest in The Chef Truck embracing the flavorful partnership that has sizzled on screen and now tantalizes taste buds.
