NYC Food Bank Will Draw Food For Food

Last week the team over at NYC Food Bank combined a love for art and foods to raise money to provide meals for those who are in need. A person who donated $20 or more could send in their favorite food and have it drawn by a group of talented artists. They drew pictures of chips nervously jumping into a kiddy pool of salsa, wrote haikus about steaks and made Inari sushi seem almost too cute to eat. Needless to say, they were successful in raising money — $6,000, which is the equivalent of 30,000 meals. Here are our top three:
If I ever feel bad about eating carnitas, I will just think of the happy pig that loved carnitas, too. So much that he ate his own arm.

You’ll never be the guy who brings Cheese Whiz and Milton’s Crackers to a potluck with this simple Cheese & Cracker drawing.

Donut Haiku, AKA Commute to Work Haiku.

Of course, these are just 3 drawings out of a multitude of clever and charming creations found on their website.
