These Confections Look Too Good To Eat In New Netflix Cooking Competition ‘School Of Chocolate’

Fun fact: Once upon a time I attended Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pennsylvania, a place where chocolate is so popular they named the city after it. Every now and again we’d take class trips to Hersheypark, the local theme park. I remember the ride through the downtown area smelling wafts of intense chocolate that flowed from the Hershey factory nearby. To top it off, throughout the year they’d bring massive chunks into class, break off pieces and hand them around. As a kid, this was all pretty amazing.

While most people probably never attended a school named after a chocolate brand, the dark and delectable treat is no doubt a force majeure. To put it simply, chocolate is the most popular sweet in the world. In the United States alone, we consume over 3 million tons each year. We go cuckoo for cocoa.

For true cocoa enthusiasts, Netflix announces School Of Chocolate, a new pastry competition show. Going beyond rectangular bars, School Of Chocolate presents a masterclass in pastry showpieces, led by world-renowned chocolatier Amaury Gichon. Known as one of the leaders of the “new school of pastry chefs,” Guichon constantly pushes the culinary envelope. His surreal chocolate creations have garnered him a social media following of millions.

The show features eight top talents from diverse backgrounds who are challenged to create unbelievable art using 100% chocolate. The contestants, each notable through their own personal achievements, will have the opportunity to not only gain first-hand insight from a master, but also further exposure for their culinary careers.

Premiering on November 26th, check out the trailer to catch a sneak peak at some of the amazing creations. It almost hurts to watch them get eaten.
