Krispy Kreme Fans Left Disappointed After Collab With Popular Australian Brand Sells Out In One Day

Krispy Kreme is the collaboration king. From doughnuts topped with mini-Pop-Tarts to concession stand-inspired ones with Hulu, it seems every other week there’s a new delicious flavor to sink your teeth into. Krispy Kreme is even teaming up with international brands. Its latest collab with the Australia-based Italian-made nut spread brand Pistachio Papi is going viral after selling out in a single day.

Filled with creamy pistachio mousse, coated in Pistachio Papi’s signature spread, and topped with candied pistachio crumbles and a white chocolate drizzle, these weren’t your average Krispy Kreme doughnuts. And if you blinked, you might have missed them. Released on February 18 for a limited two-week run, they sold out at most locations by the very next day—leaving doughnut lovers devastated and flooding social media with their disappointment.

@thecakeupartist i’ll try again tomorrow but i’ll never get those tolls back tho ffs 😔 #pistachiopapi #krispykremepistachiopapi #snackseries #krispykremeaustralia #sydneytunnels ♬ original sound – Danika-Jade

The frustration was real. One woman joked that she wanted to cry, another person said his local Krispy Kreme was sold out by 8 a.m., and the Sydney Airport location reported receiving nearly 100 calls asking about them. To say the demand for this pistachio collab was nuts would be an understatement. According to Nationwide News Australia, Pistachio Papi founder Mark Abdel said his phone was blowing up from the social media frenzy and admitted even he was shocked by how quickly the doughnuts sold out.

The hype was undeniable—those lucky enough to try it called it Krispy Kreme’s best release since the Biscoff collab. There’s no word yet on a restock, but it seems likely. One thing’s for sure: Krispy Kreme clearly didn’t anticipate the frenzy this pistachio masterpiece would cause.
