In-N-Out Sues DoorDash Because They Don’t Trust Them With Their Burgers

No new friends for In-N-Out burger, according to their latest law suit against popular food delivery service DoorDash.

DoorDash seemingly has deals with major restaurants and mom-and-pop shops alike. Not everyone’s a fan though — popular west coast burger chain In-N-Out is suing the service, saying they’re worried about not having control over how long DoorDash takes to deliver their food.

According to TMZ, DoorDash uses an imitation In-N-Out Burger logo on their website and has apparently been told several times they don’t have permission.

As both a DoorDash user and an In-N-Out addict, I can appreciate both sides of the coin.

I’ve DoorDashed In-N-Out twice, one time with great success (at my house in less than 40 minutes from my order) while the next instance was less-than-satisfactory (roughly an hour and 15 minute delivery, slightly cold fries). In-N-Out is meticulously careful about their quality control and makes no compromises (see: Monkey Style).

Apparently In-N-Out is not the only restaurant angered by DoorDash’s services. Eater reports that several New York-based eateries are pissed that the service up-charges customers in Manhattan and Brooklyn. A cheesesteak shop in Brooklyn told Eater that he sells sandwiches for $11 in the shop, but DoorDash charges $16.95 for it.

Should DoorDash be respectful of certain restaurants that want to opt out of their service?

We’ll have more info on the In-N-Out vs. DoorDash lawsuit as it unfolds — the burger chain is suing for damages and the removal of the bootleg In-N-Out logo from their app.
