Who could hate the giant, decorative tins of gourmet popcorn which seemingly sprout out of nowhere in every grocery store and Trader Joe’s and mail-order catalog around this time of year? Seriously, these things were doing the whole sweet and savory thing before it was even a thing — yellow buttery popcorn snuggled up right next to its vivid cheesy cousins and sassier caramel twins. If you’re lucky, you sometimes find a “zebra” batch, caramel kernels dressed in white and dark chocolate drizzles.
