Flavor Flav’s Unwavering Fight To Save Red Lobster

Most people don’t know that Flavor Flav was a founding member of the legendary rap group Public Enemy, co-founded with Chuck D in 1985. If you were born in the ’90s, you might remember his iconic clock chain necklace from his hit VH1 show Flavor of Love, which aired from 2006 to 2008.

Now, Flavor Flav is once again capturing headlines, this time for his relentless efforts to save his favorite restaurant, Red Lobster.

The iconic American casual dining restaurant chain, Red Lobster, adored in part because their Cheddar Bay Biscuits and Endless Shrimp deal, woefully revealed it had filed for bankruptcy this past May.

After hearing the news, the 65-year-old hip-hop and reality TV star revealed on June 3, via X, that he had visited a Red Lobster location and ordered the entire menu to support the restaurant. He proudly showcased two tables filled with dishes including fish and chips, crab legs, calamari, lobsters, and, of course, his favorite cheddar bay biscuits.

The rapper then wrote on his Instagram, “Ya boy meant it when I said I was gonna do anything and everything to help @redlobster and save the cheddar bay biscuits.”

“YOOOO, I use my platform to help others and now I wanna use it to help save one of America’s greatest dining dynasties,” Flavor Flav posted to X on May 22. “Yo @redlobster CALL ME!!! I gotchu.”

Since the post went viral, winning the hearts of consumers nationwide and kickstarting a #SaveTheBiscuits hashtag movement, the rapper has been in the limelight. His most recent announcement reveals an official new partnership with Red Lobster to promote the chain’s upcoming Crabfest.

According to Marketing Dive, after all the hype and fight by our clock-rocking hero, Red Lobster now plans to also fight to stay in business by further enlisting the rapper in 15- and 30-second commercials, all narrated by the Cheddar Bay Biscuit-loving king himself.
