Firehouse Subs Will Now Offer Both Hot AND Cold Sandwiches [EXCLUSIVE]

Firehouse Subs has long made a name for itself innovating with hot sandwiches, “steaming” their meats and cheeses and placing them on toasted sub rolls. Their brand is synonymous with hearty hot sandwiches, until today.

The fast casual chain (you order up at the cashier, but they bring the food to your table) is delving into the cold sandwich game, we learned at a media event.

We learned that instead of offering an option for their current sandwiches to be served cold, their team decided to create six new sandwiches as part of a Cold Deli Heroes menu. The move is an effort to capitalize on the catering side of their business, offering menu options that travel a bit more sexy than the warm sandwich.

Our Firehouse sources tell us that the sandwiches are currently in test at two locations in the Jacksonville, FL area:

10261 River Marsh Dr. Suite 131

Jacksonville, FL 32246

and

9825 San Jose Blvd.

Jacksonville, FL 32257

Approximately 100 restaurants will have the cold subs by June and July as a first initial test. The rest of the test is slated for August of this year where more locations will begin serving the cold menu.

Here are the sandwiches you can expect to see on the cold menu:
