This Insta-Famous Donut Shop Is Now Known For Their Soft Shell Crab Burger
If there’s one sweet shop in Southern California that seems like it does it all, it’s Glee Donuts & Burgers. Not only does this spot churn out delicious donuts and burgers as the name suggests, it also makes some Insta-worthy breakfast burritos, bagels and other sandwiches.
Literally, you’ve probably seen many breakfast burritos from this spot in your Instagram feed, and if you’re like us, it probably made you drool profusely the moment the image hit your eyeballs.
Because Glee is the versatile mom and pop shop of our dreams, we wanted to take a moment to feature one of our favorite items on the menu you might not have heard of – the Soft Shell Crab Burger.
You could consider this item a sleeper hit amongst the vast number of items on the menu at Glee. But make no mistake, once you’ve had this ‘wich, it’ll become your go-to in the blink of an eye.
What’s involved in this masterpiece, you ask? First, they start with one beef patty on the grill. Soon after, they throw not one, but TWO soft shell crabs into the fryer. Once those are nice and crispy, Glee adds butter to their already buttery brioche bun and throws it onto the flat top to get it nice and toasty.
Then they add their special, secret recipe “Glee Sauce” to the bun and assemble all the parts, adding a hearty portion of bacon, some luscious fresh avocado and more secret sauce along the way.
