Barilla Taps In With Science And Composer From ‘White Lotus’ To Make A Soundtrack Using Pasta

Have you ever wondered what your pasta might sound like? Probably not, but leading pasta company, Barilla, went there.

Barilla collaborated with renowned composer Cristobal Tapia de Veer, responsible for the iconic ‘da da da da’ sound from the popular show White Lotus, to create a unique soundtrack called Al Bronzo, using only pasta.

To formulate and craft the soundtrack, Barilla brought in University of Oxford Experimental Psychologist Charles Spence, M.A., Ph.D., to assess each Al Bronzo shape using “sonic seasoning,” which is pairing sound with flavors and textures to enhance food experiences.

Following this, Barilla recruited de Veer to translate Spence’s scientific principles into music. Utilizing Spence’s research, de Veer crafted the Al Bronzo Soundtrack, meticulously blending tones, speeds, notes, and melodies to suit each scene perfectly.

Pasta aficionados interested in the latest soundtrack can listen in on Spotify.

This isn’t Barilla’s first time creating a soundtrack for their pasta. In fact, in 2021, Barilla created a Spotify playlist that helped fans at home cook their pasta at just the right amount of time by curating a number of playlists that pair up with a type of noodle. Genius, we know.
