Tillamook And Kewpie Made A Butter-Mayo Hybrid So You’ll Never Burn A Grilled Cheese Again

Butter or mayo on grilled cheese? Tillamook and Kewpie just said, ‘Why not both?

The two brands have teamed up to create a limited-time spread called Butternaise, a silky mashup of Tillamook’s Extra Creamy Unsalted Butter and Kewpie’s new organic mayonnaise—plus a few “zesty spices” to tie it all together.

It’s a collaboration born out of a single, delicious goal: to build the perfect grilled cheese sandwich.

Tillamook says Butternaise can be “liberally lathered” on any bread you please for that ideal, golden crust. Imagine a perfectly crispy outside, melty inside, no notes. The butter-mayo hybrid also stars in Tillamook executive chef Josh Archibald’s own recipe for what he calls the “gold standard” grilled cheese.

The new spread drops November 6, available exclusively through Tillamook’s online shop. Whether you’re Team Butter, Team Mayo, or just Team Grilled Cheese, this one’s got your name all over it.
