These Solar-Powered Umbrellas Are Must-Have Safety Gear For Street Vendors

Sol, the Mexican lager from Molson Coors, is putting a spotlight on hard-working street food vendors with the launch of SOLar Umbrellas—solar-powered umbrellas designed to make their lives a little brighter.

Street vendors across the country, who are often small-business owners serving their communities, face increasing safety concerns when selling into the evening hours. The SOLar Umbrellas offer them a solution by providing UV protection during the day and ample lighting at night, making for an easy-to-mount, portable option that helps keep them safe.

“Street food vendors play an integral role in their communities,” said Bob Vydra, Associate Marketing Manager, Imports of Molson Coors Beverage Company. “We’re excited to help them feel safe in a way that also shines a light on their food, culture and impact.”

In addition to donating SOLar Umbrellas to local vendors across the Los Angeles metro area, Sol is donating to Accion Opportunity Fund, a non-profit that provides financial support and loans for Latino-owned businesses and entrepreneurs. A portion of donations will go towards helping Latino-owned street food vendors with challenges they face on a daily basis.
