Chick-fil-A Surprises Fans With Plans For Its Own Streaming Service

Fast food brands venturing outside of the world of food is nothing new, but Chick-fil-A will be the first to launch its own streaming service. According to Deadline, the brand hs been working with several major production companies and studios for family-friendly shows. There are also talks of licensing and acquiring already-existing content.

Ten episodes of a game show from Glassman Media, the company behind NBC’s The Wall, and the creator behind Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why, is said to already be in the works. Programming will be led by Brian Gibson, who has worked on History’s Top Gear and Fox’s adaptation of The X Factor.

While Chick-fil-A is leading the pack as the first food company to foray into its own streaming platform, Lyft is another non-entertainment company that has been producing original content. Stories of Evergreen Hills is a series of animated shorts created by the rideshare company.

Time will tell whether this move by Chick-fil-A inspires other fast-food companies to do the same.
