Krispy Kreme’s Classic Glaze Now Stuffed With Cream Filling

A freshly made Krispy Kreme glazed doughnut is one of life’s greatest guilty pleasures, and the doughnut shop is daring to mix things up with its “Original Filled” doughnuts.

The classic ring-shaped glazed doughnut is now stuffed with a Chocolate Kreme and Classic Kreme that you would normally find in their classic filled doughnuts.

For whatever reason, Krispy Kreme is tying their new doughnut to the historic Apollo 11 moon landing. There doesn’t seem to be any real connection between Krispy Kreme and the moon landing, but that didn’t stop them from running an odd commercial with an astronaut eating a doughnut in space.

Besides the weird branding, you’ll be happy to know that the Original Filled will be a permanent fixture, and isn’t a just a limited offering.

If you want to save a little dough, Krispy Kreme will be giving out these new offerings for free Saturday, June 22. No purchase is necessary for this promotion, but there is a limit of one per customer, so get ready to throw on your disguises if you want to cop more than one.

We tried them here at the office, and they’re as good as we expected. It’s really hard to hate a Krispy Kreme doughnut, and these are a welcome addition to the lineup.
