Taco Bell Challenges McDonald’s With Their Own 2018 Dollar Menu Upgrade

McDonald’s recently revealed a host of items coming to their new dollar menu reboot in January 2018. However, when that value option is released, it looks like they’re going to be facing even stiffer competition from their rivals, especially when it comes to Taco Bell and their 2018 dollar menu items.

The taco titan is getting a head start on their 2018 value options by launching two new $1 Stackers in mid-December. Available in either breakfast (made with eggs) or lunch/dinner (made with ground beef) form, the Stackers precede a wave of twenty different 2018 Dollar Menu items that will be launching throughout next year. The current value options won’t be taken off that menu during 2018, Taco Bell says.

Cheap eats are actually big business for Taco Bell, and help them compete against big names like McDonald’s. In 2017, the Bell has already recorded 500 million value menu transactions and their other bargain option, the $5 box, has brought in an additional $1 billion in revenue, the OC Register reports.

The plethora of new bargain items will certainly add to that in the coming year. Taco Bell hasn’t shared details of the 2018 dollar menu items they will be testing just yet, but are hinting that more news is on the way very soon.
