Experience Rare Spirits Through This Immersive Virtual Reality Journey

The Macallan Rare Journey cocktail experience is capitalizing on this cutting-edge technology by providing a platform for in-depth story telling, to create a one-of-a-kind cocktail experience.

Now, Baptiste & Bottle, located within the the Conrad Hotel in Chicago, is offering guests a premiere virtual reality-based cocktail tasting experience, that takes guests on a journey, that will provide an inside look into the creative process behind Macallan’s spirits — culminating with the Macallan Rare Cask, which is made using casks from the top one percent of all casks maturing at The Macallan distillery.

The finished cocktail is a marriage of Bodegas Tradicion 30 year Oloroso Sherry and The Macallan Rare Cask.

As the the Macallan Rare Journey beings, and guests slip on the virtual reality goggles, they are transported to the oak forests, and fly through vineyards to the sherry bodegas — ending at The Macallan distillery and Easter Elchies house, which is the spiritual home that appears on every bottle of The Macallan. 

As the guest float through their virtual journey, The Macallan Rare Cask cocktail is prepare table side and is awaiting them as they come back into reality. 

The end result of this creative, uniquely intriguing journey is symbolic of both the complexity of virtual reality, and the simplicity of Macallan’s spirit — as Baptise & Bottle has developed this immersive attraction with just three ingredients — Macallan Rare Cask, Sherry and virtual reality.
