Runner Completes Half Marathon In Under 2 Hours While Downing 13 Beers [WATCH]

This guy is the literal definition of what it means to be a champ.

YouTube user Emmet Farnan had signed up to run the Holy Half Marathon at the University of Notre Dame, but decided that just running 13.1 miles wasn’t enough of a challenge for him.

To up the ante, he had his buddy biking alongside him the entire way to hand him a beer to shotgun every time he completed a mile of the run. With twelve beers in the backpack plus another right before the marathon began, Emmet downed an impressive thirteen beers throughout the entire marathon.

Of course, stopping to shotgun beers and the effects of the alcohol would definitely slow your performance during such a long run. Emmet actually timed all of his miles and shotguns as well, so we know that he only lost 46 seconds in total to down all 13 beers. During the run, that’s an average of 3.6 seconds per beer. Wow.

Emmet still finished the half-marathon at a pretty fast pace though, completing the 13.1 miles in an hour and 43 minutes: an average pace of just under eight minutes per mile.

My mom runs half marathons often and amongst her group of runner friends, breaking two hours on a half marathon is considered a good time. Emmet easily broke that barrier while drunk.

Dude’s got impressive run endurance and alcohol tolerance, that’s for sure.
