8 Million Cuisinart Food Processors Recalled After 30 Reported Injuries

Cuisinart is issuing a major voluntary recall of more than eight million of their food processors due to faulty rivets.

About 69 consumers called in to report that their Cuisinart blades were detaching from the processor including 30 reports of lacerations from the faulty units, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. Specifically, the riveted blade in nearly two dozen food processors could potentially crack and and pieces of the blade could come apart, presenting an obvious laceration hazard.

Here are a list of the Cuisinart units being recalled:

The units were sold through the company’s website anytime between July 1996 through December 2015.

Cuisinart details exactly how you can tell if your unit is part of the recall on their official recall page found here. If you do have one of the recalled food processors, make sure to call in to customer service, listed in the aforementioned link, to get a replacement.
