GAH: 7-Eleven Trying New Chili Mango Slurpees

slurpee2

About half the people who’ve tried the new “Mango with a Kick!” Slurpee from 7-Eleven think the combination of juicy mango and zesty chili powder is bizarre. Half those people have clearly never been to Mexico or California.

Taking cues from the chili mango skewers sold by Mexican street vendors, the spicy mango slurpee starts sweet before the faint back heat comes up and knocks you in the nose and tongue (yes, that is what the “kick” would be).

According to the Slurpee Facebook, however, it would seem most people don’t like the kick, and would much prefer boring old non-spicy mango. We, on the other hand, can’t think of anything more summery.
