Burger King: “Sprout Surprise Whopper” Receives Unfavorable Feedback

The name bears an eery similarity to a burger that would be served up at Fat Camps next to a side of string beans and peas. While we can’t comment one way or another on the taste, Burger King locations in the United Kingdom have indeed added an unlikely ingredient in their latest Whopper design: Brussel Sprouts. Their Sprout Surprise Whopper seems to utilize a fried brussel sprout patty alongside the normal Whopper patty to create a sandwich the chain is completely confident in. The sandwich, priced the same as the standard Whopper, is on sale in Edinburgh, Liverpool and London Westfield.

Apparently, the initial response to the product wasn’t too positive, with BurgerKing UK issuing a statement below via their Facebook image of the product, reading:

Hi BKers – sorry to hear some of you weren’t too keen on the idea of the Sprout Surprise Whopper yesterday, but we’re confident that The King can make even Brussels Sprouts taste good! It’s on sale in Edinburgh , Liverpool, and London Westfield today for the same price as a standard Whopper– so pop along and try it and we guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

We’ll have to wait and see if this burger makes any further expansion in the region. In the meantime, we’ll continue to monitor their Facebook page and our own comment system for any further chatter and opinions on this obscure new Whopper! What do you guys think?
