This McDonald’s-Inspired Clothing Has Fast Food Workers Calling Foul

It’s not unusual to see offbeat clothes during fashion weeks, but Moschino’s newest collection (debuted at Milan Fashion Week) has fast food workers everywhere calling foul.

Jeremy Scott, the creative director for Moschino, took inspiration for his runway collection from — you guessed it — McDonald’s. Many pieces feature a large yellow “M” similar to McDonald’s golden arches, and actual employees of the restaurant chain find the clothing to be incredibly offensive. One former worker has commented:

One knowing how it is to work at McDonald’s knows there is nothing fashionable about it. Knowing someone will pay $1,000 for clothing inspired by McDonald’s workers who earn minimum wage is a mockery.

The line takes aesthetic cues from fast food culture, featuring pieces like a red and yellow $780 sweater, a Happy Meal-esque purse valued at a whopping $1,265 and even McDonald’s-inspired visors and stilettos.

Despite outrage from fast food workers, celebrities have welcomed Moschino’s work – from Katy Perry to Jourdan Dunn embracing the McDonald’s-inspired clothing.
