Tesla Gives First Look At Its LA Supercharger Diner And Drive-In
7001 West Santa Monica Boulevard is the address of the newly-constructed Tesla Supercharger Drive-In. Back in October 2023, we reported that Tesla had finally broken ground on the diner, which was first announced a month prior. Yesterday, images of the retro-futuristic exterior and interior surfaced online, hinting at the immersive experience that Elon Musk has in store.
Tesla’s Supercharger Diner and Drive-in looks straight out of the movie Tron, metallic with a red and blue fluorescent lit sign and lighting outlining the edges. The glass entrance is massive, circular and automated, with a window along the length of the building in a classic diner sort of way. Outside, there’s seating and parking spots conveniently equipped with Supercharger stalls. Futuristic finishes abound in its spacious interior, with spaceship-like booth seating and a viewport into the kitchen.
To mark the announcement, Musk posted on X, “I just had dinner at the retro-futuristic @Tesla diner and Supercharger. Team did great work making it one of the coolest spots in LA!” Nic Cruz blessed us with the menu details on X, and they definitely look mouthwatering.
The pork applewood-smoked bacon will be sourced from small batch, artisanal providers in Marina, California. Most of the produce will be sourced from the Santa Monica farmer’s market. And Straus Creamery will be providing the organic yogurt and milk. Cruz shares the sources behind the eggs, grains, beef, and more.
Tesla held the grand opening on July 21, welcoming a line of people into its doors. Parking spaces in the lot were filled with Tesla vehicles attached to Supercharger stations, of which there are 80 on-site. The lot also has two massive screens that display films and television shows for parked customers to enjoy with their meals.
Food arrives in a container shaped like a Cybertruck, featuring menu items curated by restaurateur and co-operator Bill Chait, whose credits include Tartine and Mian among others, and chef and co-operator Eric Greenspan, a former Foundry and Patina chef and the culinary lead on MrBeast Burger.
Tesla’s Supercharger Diner and Drive-in is now open 24 hours.
