Introducing Limited Edition ‘The Last of Us’ Whisky

Scotch whisky business, Chivas Brothers, has linked up with video game developer, Naughty Dog, to create a one of a kind whisky based on the acclaimed video game The Last Of Us II.

The new limited edition blended Scotch whisky, Moth & Wolf, has been created in partnership with Chivas Brothers’ The Digital Spirits Project, which puts a focus on collaborating with “the people that redefine our world through screens.”

Here’s a few neat details regarding the spirit:

  • The whisky’s vintage year of 2013 is a significant date in The Last of Us mythology, marking the beginning of the Cordyceps infection that ravaged the United States.
  • Moth & Wolf has been matured in American oak barrels which were specifically selected to reference the forests that players navigated in The Last of Us Part II.
  • The Blend Master went above and beyond to create a blend of flavors as complex and layered as the story itself, paying tribute to the game’s iconic locations. Creamy vanilla notes represent the safe haven of Jackson, while hints of smoke and malt represent the hardened landscape of Seattle in the game.
  • The packaging features the Jackson fields against the Seattle skyline. The label is also packed with character easter eggs for eagle-eyed fans like a radial design based on Joel’s watch, further complemented by the moth and wolf symbols which respectively nod to Ellie’s arm tattoo, and Abby’s Seattle-based faction, the Washington Liberation Front.

Moth & Wolf blended Scotch whisky is now available at Reserve Bar, starting at $50.99.
