Chipotle’s New Candle Was Inspired By Fans Who ‘Accidentally’ Fill Their Water Cups with Lemonade

This year National Lemonade Day fell on August 20th, and in honor of the timelessly refreshing beverage, Chipotle decided to release a lemonade-scented candle with a hilariously clever twist.

One of the oldest tricks in the game is to ask for a complimentary cup of water then fill it with lemonade on the low. Fully aware of the beverage hack, Chipotle’s new lemonade-scented candle comes in a container that resembles a free water cup.

Not only do Chipotle got jokes, they came up with the idea as a way to show appreciation for their superfans, even the ones who sneak a bit of lemonade.

“Social is the premier destination for us to listen to and engage with our superfans,” said Chris Brandt, Chief Marketing Officer at Chipotle via a release. “When they see these lighthearted tributes to social chatter and fan behavior, they feel even more connected to Chipotle.”

The candle is a limited-edition, made using soy, and is the perfect gift for lemonade lovers as it also comes with a redeemable promo code for free lemonade at your local Chipotle.

Lemonade fiends with a scent of humor can purchase the limited-edition candle for $28 on the brands Chipotle Goods website.
