Bud Light Releases Special Edition Area 51 Cans

You’ve probably seen all the Area 51 memes you can handle, and made all the Area 51 jokes you can possibly make with your buddies, but Bud Light is offering one last burst of relevancy with its special edition Area 51 label. No, seriously.

It all started with Bud Light jumping in on the Area 51 hype, offering free Buds to “any alien that makes it out” of the proposed September 20 “raid.”

They then promised to release the limited edition Area 51 label if their tweet received 51,000 retweets. The Twitter world bit, and actually made it happen, so that out of this world Bud Light can and bottle are now a reality.

The labeling says a few different things, the longest being a greeting that reads, “Greetings Earthlings. This is the famous Area 51. We know of no space beer by any other life form which is brewed and aged to be more refreshing. Our cryogenic aging procedures a light bodied space lager with a fresh taste, a crisp clean finish, and a smooth drinkability. Take us to your leader… for drinks.”

At the bottom of the can, there is a “We come in peace,” sign, which I don’t fully trust, because, you know, aliens.

Although the whole Area 51 stuff is a bit hokey, this label is pretty cool, and should be a fun addition to the summer bbq.
