A TikToker Uses Parchment Paper To Fry Chicken and Folks Are Skeptical

In the world of viral oddities called TikTok, user @youthinkyouknowme99 shared a video of an apparent hack that involves using parchment paper to fry chicken. She suggests it’s a superior way to fry chicken because the paper doesn’t stick to the pot and after you’re finished, you can simply pick up the parchment and toss it in the trash, making cleaning up simple and easy.

Since sharing her hack, the video has garnered 4.3 million views and counting along with nearly half a million likes. Unsurprisingly, the comments section is a mixed bag, with some declaring it genius to others warning of the potential dangers. It’s all pretty hilarious actually.

TikTok user Arya Phoenix declared her disapproval, saying, “some things were meant to be done, like using your pots and washing them afterwards.”

Another user named AnnaBanana praised the heavens, commenting, “GOD LEVEL. I’m doing this from now on.”

Apparently, many confused parchment paper for wax paper. “It’s parchment paper for you 🇺🇸 🇨🇦, DO NOT USE WAX PAPER!” TikToker __t commented. An even bigger head scratcher was the number of people who mistook it for regular paper. “Not people in the comments thinking it’s normal writing paper😂,” XKalli.x commented, receiving over 15k likes.

The verdict’s still out on whether her frying method is genius or just plain silliness for views. Whether you’re daring enough to try this fried chicken hack out, reading the comments section is definitely worth the laughs.
