A Mountain Dew and Doritos Cupcake?

Junk food and cupcakes, two of the most awesome food groups. WAIT. Someone paired the two? Jackpot. That’s what John Rivers of 4Rivers Smokehouse in Orlando has done. As part of the opening of his new bakery — 4River Sweetshop — he’s included some rather crazy new confections, particularly a Coke and Ruffles Cupcake and a Mountain Dew and Doritos Cupcakes (pictured).

The Bites on Today blog recently went behind-the-cupcake with owner John Rivers, asking about the new goodies, the new location and of taste testing these wild new bits of flavor. While the new shop does serve up more traditional cupcakes, Rivers told the Bites blog that he hopes to build an entire line of chips and soda cupcakes.

Hopefully he makes a Fritos and Root Beer version next. I have no problem being a lab rat for that experiment.

Seriously.
