EXCLUSIVE: Seth Rollins And Becky Lynch Share Their Favorite Food Cities, Waffle House Orders, And WWE Road Trip Eats
Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch spend more time on the road than most people spend in their own kitchens, so they’ve developed strong opinions on everything from the best late-night food cities to the coffee orders that separate the casual drinkers from the connoisseurs.
I caught up with the WWE superstars at Dayglow Coffee in Venice, California, where they were celebrating the launch of their new AMO Coffee collection with a fan meet-and-greet. Between pouring coffee and meeting fans, the couple talked to Foodbeast about underrated Irish food, the gas station pizza Seth still swears by, wrestler diet hacks, and the coffee shop that’s become part of their own story.
Foodbeast: What’s one Irish food or dish you wish more Americans understood how good it is?
Becky Lynch: Irish sausages. Nobody talks about how great Irish sausages are. Everybody’s all about the stew and corned beef and cabbage, but an Irish sausage is second to none.
Foodbeast: You’re originally from Davenport, Iowa. Give us a few places every visitor should eat while they’re there.
Seth Rollins: Casey’s Pizza. That’s right, Casey’s Pizza. Delicious gas station pizza. I grew up in nearby Buffalo, Iowa, where the best restaurant is Clark’s Landing. Shout out.
Foodbeast: Since you both spend so much life on the road, what’s one food spot that instantly tells you, “This city knows what’s up?”
Becky Lynch: I always think of Redheaded Stranger in Nashville. Their tacos… oh my gosh. The breakfast tacos.
Seth Rollins: I know it’s kind of on the nose since we’re in a coffee shop, but if you go to a town with a great coffee shop, generally the community around it has good vibes too.
Foodbeast: If you could have a cup of coffee with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
Seth Rollins: Eddie Vedder. Probably Eddie Vedder.
Becky Lynch: Michael Jordan. The GOAT. I’d just want to absorb some of that greatness through osmosis. Get that Chicago energy.
Foodbeast: What’s the most wrestler-diet thing you’ve ever eaten just because it was convenient?
Becky Lynch: When we were on the road all the time, I’d buy boiled eggs from a gas station and only eat the egg whites.
Seth Rollins: A Baconator with no bun from Wendy’s.
Foodbeast: Before a match, what’s more important: coffee, music, or food?
Becky Lynch: Coffee.
Seth Rollins: Food.
Foodbeast: Which city has the best late-night food after a show?
Becky Lynch: New York.
Seth Rollins: Yeah, New York. Everything’s open.
Foodbeast: Who in WWE has the best Waffle House order?
Becky Lynch: I’ve never been to Waffle House, so I guess I have the worst order.
Seth Rollins: Austin Creed. He gets 10 scrambled eggs, 10 pieces of bacon, extra hash browns, then mixes it all together. It’s my order now too.
Foodbeast: What’s one coffee order that immediately tells you someone “knows ball?”
Seth Rollins: A cortado. If they know what a cortado is and order it, they know.
Foodbeast: What’s a meal or coffee spot that became part of your relationship together?
Becky Lynch: Dayglow.
Seth Rollins: Yeah. We’re here. It’s really the origin of everything for us. Dayglow would be number one.
