McDonald’s is bringing back a feeling a lot of people thought fast food lost years ago: walking in with a few bucks and still leaving full.

The chain just rolled out its new Under $3 Menu nationwide, expanding the McValue platform with a lineup of staples that all land below the three-dollar mark at participating locations.

And this isn’t one of those value menus where the “deal” turns out to be apple slices and disappointment.

The lineup includes McDoubles, McChickens, 4-piece Chicken McNuggets, Small Fries, hash browns, Sausage McMuffins, burritos, biscuits, and medium soft drinks. McDonald’s also added a new $4 breakfast meal deal that bundles a Sausage McMuffin or Sausage Biscuit with hash browns and a small coffee.

Prices still vary depending on location, but the larger point feels obvious: fast food chains know people miss value feeling like actual value.

That pressure has quietly reshaped the industry over the past year. Meal deals came back. Bundles turned up its volume. Apps started throwing around discounts like casino comps. McDonald’s just decided to plant its flag directly in the “cheap eats” conversation again.

The company also plans to rotate deeper promotions throughout the year, including a $1.50 Sausage McMuffin and a $2.50 McDouble.

And in 2026, seeing a McDouble cost less than some cold brews almost feels nostalgic.
