Smoothie King And Grillo’s Turn Pickles Into A Smoothie
Pickles have officially crossed into smoothie territory.
Smoothie King just launched a pickle smoothie nationwide in partnership with Grillo’s Pickles, blending actual pickles into a drink built around hydration and summer snacking culture.
The limited-time smoothie mixes Grillo’s pickles with bananas, organic kale, and coconut water, creating a tangy, salty-sweet flavor profile that will have pickle lovers clamoring for a sip.
And really, this feels like the inevitable next step for pickle culture.
Pickles have spent the last few years escaping the sandwich. They’ve landed in popcorn, ranch, chips, cocktails, and even hydration mixes. Smoothie King just looked at all that momentum and decided to liquify it.
To be fair, pickles do bring actual hydration benefits to the table. The brine naturally contains electrolytes, which helps explain why pickle juice already lives in the worlds of sports recovery and wellness TikTok.
Smoothie King is tapping into that angle, positioning the drink as both functional and refreshing for summer.
The pickle smoothie costs $5.99 for a 20-ounce cup and launches at more than 1,200 Smoothie King locations nationwide. To celebrate International Pickle Day on May 16, the chain will also hand out free 4-ounce samples while supplies last.
