McDonald’s Adds Dirty Sodas And New Refreshers
McDonald’s is making a serious push into drinks with a new lineup of Refreshers and crafted sodas hitting menus nationwide May 6.
The drop includes six new drinks split between three Refreshers and three dirty soda style builds, all leaning into brighter flavors and more layered textures.
The Refreshers stick to a lemonade base, mixing in fruit flavors and add-ins like freeze-dried fruit and popping boba. Strawberry Watermelon keeps it simple with freeze-dried strawberries, Mango Pineapple goes tropical with strawberry boba, and Blackberry Passion Fruit adds dragon fruit for a little extra texture.
On the soda side, McDonald’s gets a little more experimental. Sprite Berry Blast returns with its blue raspberry syrup and cold foam top. Orange Dream builds off the iconic Hi-C Orange Lavaburst with vanilla and cold foam. Dirty Dr Pepper is the most intriguing, mixing in vanilla and finishes with the same creamy top layer.
Across the board, the drinks dip into what’s been picking up across fast food lately—more customization, more texture, and drinks that feel closer to a full-on treat.
McDonald’s is also tying the launch to a limited run of beaded drink carriers in collaboration with designer Susan Alexandra, dropping online May 6.
Earlier this year we reported on McDonald’s adding drinks to the McCafé menu from its CosMc’s concept, and this looks to be that speculation coming to fruition.
