Yes, Sonic just turned horchata into a new Strawberry Horchata Cream Slush.

Sonic is adding a creamy and fruity twist to the Mexican staple. This version features creamy soft serve, cinnamon-spiced horchata syrup and real strawberries that are said to deliver a cool and unexpected finish that’s perfect for spring sipping.

The limited-edition drink is available nationwide while supplies last beginning March 23 in a 20oz cup with a price tag of $3.99. However, users with the Sonic app can already get their hands on the spring beverage.

Sonic is clearly tapping into the growing trend of turning classic desserts or dessert-like items into drinkable treats similar to recent launches like Wendy’s Thin Mints Frosty alongside Dairy Queen’s dessert-forward drinks.

Will this be another dessert-inspired drink that sounds better than it tastes or will it live up to the hype?
