Chick-fil-A doesn’t have the international presence that many of its fast food counterparts do. Most of its locations are in the U.S., with just five in Puerto Rico and 26 in Canada. That will change this fall as the chain opens its first locations in Great Britain and Singapore.

Leeds will be the first U.K. city to receive a Chick-fil-A. Residents will operate each of the incoming U.K. and Singapore locations in an effort by the company to establish meaningful connections with the surrounding communities. Chick-fil-A has five locations planned for both countries, with each expected to add 70 to 120 new jobs.

“Expanding in both Europe and Asia is a meaningful milestone for Chick-fil-A,” said Andrew T. Cathay, chief executive officer of Chick-fil-A, Inc. “The investments we’re making in the U.K. and Singapore not only present opportunities for our business, but are also a chance for us to bring what makes Chick-fil-A special to new places — great food and remarkable hospitality, our unique franchise model and the positive impact we have in communities.”

In Great Britain, the first location will be led by Mike Hoy, a London resident with extensive restaurant industry experience. And Chyn Koh will head the first Singapore location, a native restaurant industry veteran fluent in both English and Mandarin. To coincide with the openings, Chick-fil-A plans to donate $25,000 from each to non-profit organizations in the U.K. and Singapore.
