Are Michelin Kids Menus Secretly Just As Good As The Adult Ones?

Kids menus at Michelin-rated restaurants: adorable gimmick or legit culinary experience? To find out, Foodbeast’s own Elie Ayrouth teamed up with The CrunchBros to take an 8-year-old on a three-tiered Michelin Guide adventure through Southern California.

The journey kicked off at The Ranch in Anaheim, a Michelin Recommended spot, followed by Amore E Tacos in Santa Ana, which holds a coveted Bib Gourmand designation. The final stop? A Michelin-starred restaurant that pushed the limits of what a kid-friendly fine dining experience could look like.

Watch as they take on tomahawk steaks and escargot to Tetris-shaped tater tots and star-shaped chicken nuggets. They truly went plate-for-plate—kids menu versus adult menu—to see if the flavors, quality, and fun stacked up. Along the way, we discovered why many Michelin-starred spots won’t let kids in at all, which kids menu items actually outshined the adult dishes, and the one restaurant that crushed our “kid-friendly” test with flying colors.

By the end, this Michelin Guide-inspired adventure proved one thing: sometimes the smallest plates pack the biggest punch. Whether you’re a parent, a diehard foodie, or just someone who unapologetically orders chicken tenders well into adulthood, this one’s for you.
