Fans will get to celebrate their favorite foam-topped bevvy on Wednesday, August 6, National Root Beer Float Day. A&W Restaurants, known for its signature root beer, is giving away free floats and limited-edition mugs, with 100% of proceeds going to support DAV (Disabled American Veterans), a non-profit that provides necessary resources to veterans and their families.

Stop by your local A&W Restaurant between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. to receive a free small root beer float, blended with velvety vanilla soft serve. All ages are welcome and no purchase is necessary. The A&W Collector’s Root Beer mug, which features Rooty the Great Root Bear mascot, retails for $10. Donations to DAV are voluntary but encouraged.

“National Root Beer Float Day is one of our favorite days of the year, because not only do we love putting smiles on our guests’ faces with free treats, but we proudly give back to the people who have bravely served our country,” said Betsy Schmandt, CEO and President of A&W Restaurants. “Thanks to our generous guests and franchise partners, we’ve donated over $1 million to veteran-focused organizations to date, and this year, we’re aiming to make an even greater impact.”
