Smuckers Peanut Butter Recall: Possible Salmonella Contamination

Before you indulge in National Peanut Butter month this November by preparing dishes filled with peanut buttery goodness, you had better check the label before getting your grub on. Smuckers is recalling thousands of jars of its Chunky peanut butter due to a possible salmonella contamination. The company says that the possibly contaminated jars would have been purchased within the last week or so, and will have a “Best if used by” date of between August 3 2012 or August 4 2012. You can also check jars with product codes 1307004 and 1308004 to identify possibly contaminated jars. So far, no illnesses have been reported and the recall for customers is currently on a voluntary basis.
