Hollywood’s Famed Chinese Theater Is Serving Chinese Food For The First Time In 97 Years

The TCL Chinese Theatre is one of the most famous venues in Hollywood history. From its iconic architecture to its 200 celebrity hand and footprints, it’s a ubiquitous part of the Hollywood experience. Opened on May 18, 1927, the legendary Chinese-themed theatre has announced that it will be serving Cantonese-style Chinese food for the first time in its 97 years of operation.

Non-snack food has never been allowed inside the theatre before on a regular basis, but on Saturday, March 23 only, ticket holders can enjoy an array of dim sum options along with the usual popcorn and candy snacks. The menu was created by Executive Chef Tony He, known by man as the godfather of dim sum in LA, and the team from Dim Sum Hollywood. Chef He is an internationally acclaimed dim sum master who began his career four decades ago in Guangzhou, China and has.

From there, he relocated to Vancouver, Canada and opened the widely successful Yidong restaurant group. He’s took him to Rosemead, California where he opened Sea Harbour Seafood Restaurant, otherwise known as the “Mecca for dim sum in the Southland.” Further success pushed Chef Tony to create another chain of fusion dim sum restaurants aptly named after himself.

Ticket holders that attend on March 23 will have the option of three dim sum combo plates:
