Watch Rapper Coi Leray’s Creative Tour Bus Steak Grilling Hack

Finding quality food can be a challenge for touring musicians. On the road, fast food is usually the quickest and easiest option. Between back-to-back shows and driving from state-to-state, there isn’t much time to dine at restaurants. Some artists, however, have come up with inventive ways to elevate their tour diet. Lil’ Wayne is fortunate enough to bring a personal chef on the road. Others have taken matters into their own hands.

Rapper Coi Leray decided to put her cooking skills to work while enroute to Washington D.C. In a video posted on her Instagram account, she demonstrates how to cook steak with a makeshift aluminum grill. Leray shared her process in the video, which only required two aluminum pans, a grate, and coal from the grocery store.

After heating up the coal, she placed seasoned steak atop the grill to cook. For extra flavor, she sliced and grilled red and yellow peppers. Brushing the steak with garlic butter, she says, “I like my steak medium-well, with a little bit of pink on the inside.”

Many of her followers were impressed by her resourcefulness, but of course, grill-snobs chimed in to point out that the charcoal wasn’t ready. Criticism aside, it’s pretty cool to see Coi Leray show clever ways to enhance the food experience while on the road.
