Pull Up To This Parking Lot For Some Of Hawaii’s Best Huli Huli Chicken

The intoxicating waft of chicken slowly roasted over mesquite wood has been attracting locals and tourists alike to this nondescript parking lot at Kamuela Liquor in Waimea, Hawaii for over two decades.

GJ’s Huli Chicken was established in 1999 by a father-son duo and has been delighting folks for over 20 years with incredibly moist, irresistible Hawaiian huli huli chicken. To achieve the undeniable siren song of its lauded reputation, GJ’s roasts its chicken over mesquite wood for over an hour, all while glistening in sweet huli huli sauce.

Beyond the legendary chicken, GJ’s also serves Filipino food favorites like pancit and turon, perfect additions to round out a proper plate lunch on The Big Island.
