Pepsi and 7-Eleven Use Facebook Check-Ins to Stop Hunger

Pepsi is partnering with 7-Eleven stores nationwide in a new marketing campaign to relieve domestic hunger. Consumers can help by purchasing Pepsi products at participating 7-Elevens nationwide. Pepsi will donate 5 cents from each 20-oz. Pepsi product to Feeding America’s national and local programs nationwide, which provides emergency food assistance to 37 million Americans each year.

Consumers can also double their donations by checking-in at 7-Eleven on Facebook too. Unfortunately, donations from Pepsi will cap at $250,000.

Sounds like huge marketing campaign? Well it is. Bryan Welsh, Pepsi Shopper marketing vice president says “it’s important to create unique, point-of-sales marketing programs that engage our customers and provide them with a convenient, immediate way to do good.” Buy Pepsi, do good, win win.
