The novel explores the existence of Big Mama! Okie Dokie Donuts, the “best little donut shop in town!” with donuts infused with her secret ingredient — love. Yes, it’s one of those children’s novel, but the book also explores the life and times of the establishment’s “large and lovely heroine,” and generally exploits a lot of the goodness that comes along with good baking, good food and good company.
